Comprehensive Dental Care (COHAT)
Because dental disease often hides below the gumline, a thorough dental assessment requires general anesthesia. This allows our team to examine each tooth above and below the gumline, take full-mouth x-rays to check the bone and roots for infection or abscesses, extract any teeth that are too diseased to save, and clean and polish the remaining healthy teeth. Afterward, we’ll walk you through what we found, what treatment was needed and what recovery will look like.
Dental Surgery and Extractions
Some teeth are too damaged, infected or painful to save. When this is the case, our team will explain what we found, why extraction is the best option and what to expect during recovery. Removing a problem tooth is often the fastest way to relieve pain and help your pet feel like themselves again.
Signs Your Pet May Need Dental Care
Pets do not always show dental pain clearly. Bad breath, drooling, changes in appetite, chewing on one side, pawing at the mouth, red gums, visible tartar or swelling around the face can all be signs that your pet should be examined. If you are unsure whether your pet’s teeth need attention, a dental exam is a good place to start.
